On October 29–30, 2025, the MTT 2025 Conference – “Air Quality Measurement Techniques” – was held in Palermo, at the prestigious Teatro Massimo, organized by ARPA Sicilia.
The event brought together experts and professionals from the sector to discuss the main regulatory and technological innovations in the field of atmospheric monitoring, with particular focus on the new European Directive 2024/2881/EC on air quality.
After more than thirty years of editions hosted in Austria, with the participation of leading institutes from Germany and South Tyrol, the MTT Conference embarked on a new path in Italy starting in 2024. The first national edition, organized by ARPAE Emilia-Romagna, marked the beginning of an inter-agency collaboration that continues in 2025 with the Sicilian edition.
Fine Metrology actively participated in the initiative, presenting a paper dedicated to the applications of permeation tube technology for the controlled generation of traceable reference gas mixtures. The presentation highlighted how these systems can ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and metrological traceability in the calibration of instruments used in air monitoring networks and beyond.
Fine Metrology’s presence at MTT 2025 reaffirms the company’s commitment to quality, reliability, and innovation in environmental and research measurements, in collaboration with public institutions and leading European laboratories.
